Remember Our Veterans

A significant contribution to the historical story of Wilmot is the role played by its veterans.

There are commemorative cenotaphs in New Hamburg and New Dundee, as well as plaques placed at various cemeteries around the Township. Not all local cemeteries contain markers of veterans, and not all Wilmot veterans are recognized in our cemeteries. Many veterans died overseas and are memorialized near where they died, in most cases.

This link will take you to another website that the webmaster manages. It too is a “work-in-progress” but will give some background for those interested in those who came before us and sacrificed their physical and mental wellbeing for our futures.
