This tale is a bacon scrapin.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>\u2018Twas The Week Before Christmas \u2013 2024<\/b><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">With apologies to Clayton Moore.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Twas the week before Christmas, in Castle Kilbride,<\/p>\n<p>The creatures were all huddled-up cozy inside;<\/p>\n<p>Four-ty-five scribb-lers were planning with care;<\/p>\n<p>Know- ing that bud-get time soon would be there.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The statues have quickly been dug from their beds,<\/p>\n<p>Hi-dden away in some cold stor-age shed;<\/p>\n<p>So, LUR-A was hired to connect with the folks,<\/p>\n<p>To see if sug-ges-tions, pos-i-tive, evoke.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When out in the press there arose such a clatter,<\/p>\n<p>It seemed that the farmers still didn\u2019t matter?<\/p>\n<p>Away to the lines went tractors and wagons,<\/p>\n<p>Vocal pro-test-ors their signs they were draggin\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The sun on the breast of the new fallen snow,<\/p>\n<p>Showed Alfred of Lowrick still leading the flow;<\/p>\n<p>When what to Ms. Redman\u2019s weary eyes did appear,<\/p>\n<p>But Trump saying Canada &#8211; will soon disappear.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With Clark at the helm, so lively and quick,<\/p>\n<p>Defining the terms of debate quite the trick.<\/p>\n<p>Now Council must beg for permission to talk,<\/p>\n<p>With ci-ti-zens &#8211; questions, all answers be balked.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCommon ground has been found, trust issues all drained,<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m ready to lead us!\u201d they proudly proclaimed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe citizens\u2019 tax bills, soon out they will go, (and)<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll build us an ed-i-fice, no staff in the snow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We lifted our heads, and were looking around,<\/p>\n<p>To see if a way, for in-put, be found;<\/p>\n<p>The rules of procedure restricting one\u2019s say,<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s easier to mumble and just stay away.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The roads are all plowed, and drive-ways all filled,<\/p>\n<p>Shovelling exercise, residents are thrilled<\/p>\n<p>To get out and chat with a neigh-bour unseen,<\/p>\n<p>Since the clouds of our win-ter rolled over the scene.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kaitlin took off-ice to en-thused applause \u2013 we\u2019ll<\/p>\n<p>See how she runs it, is she really the Bos?<\/p>\n<p>How-ie pushed hard for small spa-ces placement,<\/p>\n<p>He wanted his kids, out quick from his basement.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Olga takes 5 bucks, receipt with a smile,<\/p>\n<p>For each FOI re-quest form that you file.<\/p>\n<p>E-laine is the face of this place &#8211; so ten-der,<\/p>\n<p>A Bender, call sender, surr-ender, be-friend \u2018er.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The guy was too big, to confine to this place,<\/p>\n<p>They needed a station in which he could grace,<\/p>\n<p>Us all with safe homes, through ev-er-y season,<\/p>\n<p>Three stations, one man, it\u2019s gotta be Leeson.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We hear of the re-serve, that fund it is empty,<\/p>\n<p>Just give up some o-ther, then soon we\u2019ll have plenty,<\/p>\n<p>But give up 2 million in charges ain\u2019t dandy;<\/p>\n<p>Take back a made promise, so others get candy?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As dry leaves be-fore the wild hurr-i-canes fly,<\/p>\n<p>December\u2019s grey clouds force our eyes to the sky;<\/p>\n<p>With some folks a-mazed, dri-vel by the doz-en,<\/p>\n<p>Ward 2 sends its \u201cThanks!\u201d, to Kris Wil-kin-son.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And then in a twinkling I heard at the table.<\/p>\n<p>The pounding of gavel, the meeting\u2019s enabled;<\/p>\n<p>Na-tasha she\u2019s pushing for only the facts,<\/p>\n<p>But getting straight info\u2019s like herding 12 cats.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This del-e-gate clo-ses this tale at Road Sny-der,<\/p>\n<p>With wi-shes for peace, and a New Year that\u2019s wiser;<\/p>\n<p>But let us exclaim, \u2018ere we drive out of sight,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHappy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201dWe live in a diverse community. Not all of us have cultural ties to Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019d like to send, to all of my fellow Wilmot citizens, my wishes for cohesion<\/p>\n<p>and solidarity &#8211; as we seek ways to have our voices heard, not just by<\/p>\n<p>Council, and its hired administration staff, but also by each other.
