The Sequence of Events \u2013 Prior to the Election of 2022-2026 Council<\/h4>\n

  1. Feb. 19, 2016: Council and Staff Met With Createscape<\/a> Waterloo Region<\/li>\n
  2. March 21, 2016: Staff prepared CL2016-06, a report with recommendations to proceed <\/a><\/li>\n
  3. April 4, 2016: Council unanimously voted to enter a legal Agreement with Createscape<\/a> \u2013 page 2<\/li>\n
  4. May 5, 2016: The Council entered into a legal Agreement<\/a> to install the statutes \u2013 click here to read the Agreement. Note Item 7<\/li>\n
  5. April 6, 2016: \u201cMonumental wisdom in Wilmot<\/a>\u201d (KW Record)<\/li>\n
  6. Some Statues were installed<\/li>\n
  7. Wilmot staff & Council did not produce the educational component as required in the Agreement<\/a><\/li>\n

  13. Council passed a resolution that was not representative of Wilmot citizens, and prejudicial re. any future process<\/a><\/li>\n
  14. Oct. 5, 2020: Wilmot staff produced a Report to address \u2018fall-out\u2019<\/a><\/li>\n
  15. Oct. 5, 2020: Council entered into a Supplementary Agreement<\/a><\/li>\n
  16. Nov. 2, 2020: Addendum<\/a> To ILS 2020-27 Describes \u201cThe Nature of the Educational Programs<\/a>\u201d component required by the Agreement. Township admits its responsibilities but does nothing<\/strong><\/em>!<\/li>\n
  17. Nov. 2, 2020: Council \u2018executes\u201d Supplementary Agreement<\/a><\/li>\n
  18. Dec. 7, 2020: Council hires<\/a> a native group<\/a> from Ottawa to do research (page 8 in agenda)<\/li>\n
  19. The research group interviews statistically unspecified people<\/li>\n

  26. After 74% of the public favour keeping statues and adding educational components Council voted to remove & store statues<\/li>\n
  27. Council votes to form a \u201ccommittee\u201d to advise it regarding what to do with the statues<\/li>\n
  28. 5 minutes after the Council Meeting contractor is called to remove statues<\/li>\n
  29. 24 hours later the statues are gone<\/li>\n
  30. Staff refuse to answer questions and claim F.O.I. restrictions<\/li>\n

  32. No \u201cStatue committee\u201d exists yet. (There is a \u201cstudy group\u201d consisting of 2 Councillors, and the rest are native peoples \u2013 almost all of whom do not live in Wilmot. There was no widely published invitation by the Council to ordinary citizens to participate.)<\/li>\n
  33. There will be a Report published by the new C.A.O. in March 2022. The Council has made ALL of its decisions based on the statistically invalid product presented by First Peoples Group on July 5, 2021. There has been no subsequent public participation, input and consultation, or interim public updates. This process is flawed and appears \u201ccooked\u201d.<\/li>\n
  34. As of the 2022 election notices, (August 2022) NOTHING HAS BEEN RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC!<\/strong><\/li>\n
